A place for adventure
Welcome to Mountain Rangers! Mountain Rangers has been created to give children the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to allow them to explore the UK’s wild places.
Weekly sessions are held with a qualified outdoor instructor who teaches the art of navigation, expedition skills, outdoor first aid and weather law. The sessions cover basic bush craft, including shelter building, survival skills, cooking (on stoves and over open fires), equipment selection, outdoor hazards and safety in the hills.
Mountain Rangers participate in local overnight hikes, camps and outdoor adventures. They have opportunities to sleep out overnight using tents, tarps and bivouacs with longer excursions into the UK’s wild places. Outside they put into practice what they have learned in the weekly sessions, developing the skills to become physically and mentally fit enough for the challenges the mountains bring.
We hope that all Mountain Rangers will have fantastic experiences, make new friends, get into a few scrapes and have a lot of laughs.
Memories aren’t made sitting in front of a screen!
